Acting as a Class A Florida State Certified General Contractor, LEED Accredited Professional, national commercial building contractor (NASCLA REG#1261), and a licensed real estate broker, Eric has overseen a development pipeline of more than $250 million in the US and Europe. As a developer, he qualified for a $12 million Recovery Zone Bond Federal project and successfully partnered with 123 Venture, a €1.15 billion investment fund specializing in hotels. He has also overseen more than $275 million in commercial construction projects.
Some noteworthy projects from his portfolio include: the adaptive reuse of an abandoned assisted living facility into an award winning Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel, the first LEED Certified office building in the City of Sarasota, the first LEED Certified Hampton Inn and Suites in the country, and the first Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn in France.
Eric is a very active member in the Sarasota community, serving on the Chamber of Commerce's Government Issues Committee, as a Vice President of the Indian Beach Sapphire Shores Association, and Chair of North Trail Redevelopment Committee where he championed decisive land use changes. Business Development Manager
Managing our existing clients and projects, while pursuing strategic growth for our company and cultivating new business opportunities, Heather Gilpatric is a broad-minded, big-picture thinker that oversees the growth of Firmo in the community and beyond. As our business development manager, her proficiency in implementing goal-focused organizational strategies, understanding and communicating customer needs, negotiations, and relationship building will allow her to develop and connect the expertise of Firmo to both potential and current clients.
With more than 6 years of experience working at a nationally recognized, uniquely structured advertising company, Heather is accustomed to a fast-paced, development-oriented environment. This also stems from experience in negotiating multiple deals with development firms for companies such as Whole Foods and Tesla. She's also managed several large commercial offices in Bradenton and Sarasota.
In the community, Heather loves to volunteer or participate in runs for charities and, very soon, her drive to learn new skills will take her to sitting for her real estate license.
Director of Marketing & Communications
Nicole oversees and manages our internal and external communications and marketing efforts, developing and implementing communications strategies to elevate and strengthen Firmo as a leading commercial construction management firm in the region. Her previous public relations and communications experience fostered her skills in creating and executing long-term communications campaigns, as well as measuring and evaluating marketing performance, and directing public communication functions.
Born and raised in Sarasota, Nicole is a true native who graduated from Pine View High School for the Gifted, concurrently earning her HS Diploma and Associate's Degree from State College of Florida. Nicole obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from the Zimmerman School for Mass Communications at USF. There, she was an active member of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) which inspired her current involvement with PRSA and CWC-FPRA (the Central West Coast chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association). Prior to working at Firmo, Nicole was Associate Director of Communications at ATLARGE, a Sarasota-based creative agency, where she worked on strategic communications plans for multiple clients in industries ranging from corporate and healthcare to nonprofits and construction.
A lover of writing and music, Nicole has enjoyed volunteering for music production in Tampa as well as freelance writing, most recently in Sarasota for Style Magazine. (Language proficiencies: Czech, English)
Estimator & Procurement Manager
With more than 7 years of experience in cross-functional construction and the application of information technology within a construction administration setting, Ryan specializes in business process improvements, information management, and data analytics. His organized, detail-driven, and process-oriented approach makes him a proficient Estimator and Procurement Manager for our construction team, where he manages and oversees documentation, coordination of on-site personnel and materials, and conducting bid proposal reviews.
Ryan's experience has ranged from preconstruction management, procurement, and permit coordination in residential construction to cross-functional roles that spanned across project engineering, project management, document control, and IT in commercial construction. His largest commercial project was Universal's Volcano Bay valued at over $400 million. He spent 3 years as a project engineer for multiple projects in Orlando, Florida, overseeing and managing the daily tasks and coordination of an on-site construction team. Ryan most recently worked as part of the estimating department for a large general contractor in Orlando, Florida where he worked on projects valued at more than $30 million.

Overseeing the management of our client projects, the coordination of subcontractors, and the provision of estimates, Andrew brings with him substantial expertise of team management, leadership, and customer service. His savvy project scheduling management to keep projects on time, coordination of our field staff, including on site Superintendents, procurement management, and allocation of resources to meet budgets has resulted in more than 20 of Firmo's commercial projects being successfully delivered under his leadership.
Andrew came to us with more than 6 years of experience with the offshore oil and gas industry in New Orleans. His work in the Gulf involved prioritizing safety and quality control as well as maintaining precision in a fast-paced environment. He spearheaded project management and client relations for a Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) installation company, in addition to running a refurbishing construction company, where he supervised the installation of over $10 million in industrial power equipment. He was also involved with the creation of One Thousand Museum, a high-rise residential condominium which will soon be one of the city's tallest buildings.
In the community, Andrew is the President and Co-Founder of the Rotaract Club of Sarasota. His association with a youth exchange program also led him to the Italian island of Sardinia, where he resided for a year. (Language proficiencies: Italian, English)
Brittany came to us with more than 10 years of experience in the construction industry. Her work ranges from internships at New Metlife Stadium to a LEED Silver certified high rise in New Jersey. Specializing in work with the mechanical trades, she worked at the World Trade Center Transportation Hub that presented unique challenges to minimize traffic disruption and keep the public safe while constructing 5 new tracks, 4 new platforms over 4 stories underground. During this project, she earned her LEED AP license and has maintained it since.
Brittany continued to spearhead the mechanical trades as well as BIM Coordination for a 43-story luxury high rise with units starting out at $3.8 Million from buyout to execution, including a 7,200SF sales gallery located within a historical building in New York City. After leaving the East Coast, she became a project engineer for a fast-paced missile defense station in a remote corner of Alaska with strict deadlines and stringent specifications. From one corner of the country to another, she recently managed the mechanical trades for an 18-story luxury high rise in sunny Sarasota.
As our project manager, she will continue to apply the unique expertise and skills she's learned along the way to deliver successful projects on time and within budget. In the community, Brittany is a JDRF advocate and is a strong proponent for Women in Construction programs.
Bringing more than 25 years of experience in the construction, development, and inspection fields, Tom Gant, has a broad range of capabilities spanning from senior project management for restoration companies, to starting his own inspection company. He's worked with various sectors from hospitality to multi-family construction with noteworthy structures including Chicago high-rises such as, the Tremont Hotel. downtown YMCA, the Piedmont Building, and Manhattan Apartments. As our Superintendent, he manages and supervises field operations for our projects, directing and guiding subcontractors while ensuring our client's vision becomes a reality on time and on budget.
Growing up working for his father's construction business part-time, Tom served in the Air Force Special Operations for 13 years. Immediately after his time in the Military he was a union carpenter before reacquainting himself with supervision in the construction industry as a full-time career. He worked as senior project manager for a fire and water restoration company, as well as a facade restoration company restoring high rise buildings. Tom then became Director of Asset Management/Superintendent with Good Hospitality and HRC Hotels, where he worked on a dozen Marriott and Hilton structures. His career then transitioned him to Superintendent for a multi-family community and hospitality builder. For 8 years, he's also owned an inspection company that conducts condition assessments. His knowledge and experience bring a wide range of skills and expertise to our construction team.
When he's away from work, Tom enjoys outside activities such as boating and fishing, motor sports, classic cars, and spending time with his family.
Bringing a strong foundation of experience with over 15 years in the construction industry, Andor is responsible for managing field personnel and staffing needs, coordinating and scheduling subcontracts, materials, and on-site work, and most importantly, maintaining health and safety standards for each project. Andor also works with architects, engineers, and owners to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Andor has completed a multitude of projects across multiple industries including hospitality, medical, and corporate clients, with the addition of multi-family projects. This experience has resulted in expertise for occupied and phased projects, including healthcare, FEMA, high-rise residential projects, and complex remodels.
Originally from Hungary, Andor is well-versed in the unique challenges and solutions required to work on international projects and large project teams. (Language proficiencies: Hungarian, German, English)
With a broad range of leadership experience across multiple facets of our industry, both commercial and residential, our Superintendent, Jeff Bryde, oversees our day-to-day field operations of projects from inception to completion, managing and directing in-house personnel and subcontractors while ensuring a smooth transition from the blueprints to reality.
A professional renovator by trade with more than 30 years of experience in construction, Jeff has worked on high-end commercial and residential renovations and build outs, with projects completed all along the eastern seaboard. From managing builds of historical homes and businesses to medical offices, financial offices, and restaurants, Jeff is an expert at project management, quality control, client relations, and most importantly, maintaining health and safety standards for each project with with an OSHA 30 Certification and a proven safety track record.
When he's not at the construction site, Jeff enjoys fishing, antiquing, road trips, enjoying Florida's weather, and spending time relaxing in the pool with his wife, Amy.
Director of Design
Maegan oversees company operations and leads the design department, developing and implementing creative strategies for Firmo. Her dynamic experience, academic accolades, and cultural capital enable her to focus on building connections with community stakeholders to identify and execute redevelopment projects.
A summa cum laude graduate from the University of Hawai'i, Certificate of Interior Design holder from Ringling College of Art + Design, and an urbanite of many metropolitan cities, Maegan brings with her tenured experience in the film industry and an understanding of the facilitation of diverse communities and cultures. These skills all capitalizing on her ability to lead, coordinate, and execute a project under an array of challenging circumstances and environments. (Language Proficiencies: French, English)
Bookkeeper & Office Manager
Susel manages the day-to-day of our office and also oversees Firmo's finances as our bookkeeper. With a strength in numbers and finance, she excels in the accounting field and specializes in taxation, having previously worked as a certified tax professional at H&R Block for 4 years. She also worked at Cabanas and Associates PA in Miami as a professional in accounting, auditing, and bookkeeping services.
Born and raised in Cuba, Susel studied accounting before she moved to the States. Here, she's continued her studies in the field as an accounting major in her final year at USF. She's excited to dive into her career and has a goal to become a CPA. Outside of work, Susel loves spending time with her dog, and enjoying Florida's beautiful beaches.
